White Coaches Accountability Group

Learning and growing in community.

Imagine having a supportive space to engage in anti-racist self-reflection in community with other white coaches.

White Coaches Accountability Group is a small group program focused on critically exploring whiteness in coaching and learning together how to apply an anti-racist approach in your coaching practice.

We welcome white coaches across all levels of understanding racial justice – this program provides a scaffolded foundation and powerful questions to guide personal and professional development on issues of race and racism. Our aim is to explore, recognize, and challenge racism within ourselves and our coaching practices, and to hold each other accountable in a supportive and vulnerable space.

What is a white accountability group?

Accountability groups - also referred to as affinity groups or caucuses - are communities of people who share a common attribute, like race. White accountability groups are spaces that allow white folks opportunities for processing, reflection, and doing our own work to challenge racism and white supremacy in community with one another.

By doing this work in community with other white folks, we create a space where we can both be vulnerable and hold each other accountable, while also removing the potential emotional burden on Black and non-Black people of color as we do this work.

Why an accountability group for white coaches?

As coaches, we aim to hold space for our clients in a way that's authentic and vulnerable. For coaching to be successful, clients must be able to develop a trusting and supportive relationship with their coach.

White people have a crucial role to play in advancing racial justice and we must do the uncomfortable and important work of confronting our complicity in racism and white supremacy.

As white coaches, by doing our own work to unpack racism, whiteness, and white privilege in community with other white folks, we can deepen our capacity to more authentically and intentionally serve our clients.

I’m a developmental scientist and values and productivity coach. I specialize in helping my clients confront and unpack tough emotions and seek greater alignment between their values, their work, and their lives. In the past, I’ve had the privilege of participating in white accountability groups, and these experiences have been quite literally life-changing for me. In creating this space for other white coaches, I hope to pay it forward and provide a space where we can all learn and grow in ways that will break down white supremacy and better serve our clients.

Amy Corron

I am a leadership and social justice educator who specializes in alignment and productivity coaching. As a trained intergroup dialogue facilitator, I help students dialogue about issues of race and racism across difference, as well as provide inclusive facilitation training to faculty and staff. I have been a part of white accountability groups that have deeply transformed how I think about and approach all parts of my life regarding race and being a white person. I am passionate about holding space for others to name and contest racism as it shows up in their lives, and overall advance racial justice in the coaching field.
